Organisms Taking Shape

Something I appreciate about the field of architecture is being able to see buildings come to life, both literally and figuratively. For example, the city Valencia in Spain holds this type of building created by Santiago Calatrava. This unique building is in the shape of an eye! According to Rethinking the Future, "It is a hemisphere that resembles a giant eye. The structure depicts the form of an eyelid that opens to access the surrounding water pool. The bottom part of the pool is glass, so at night the hemisphere is reflected on the water to form a whole eye. The transparent roof is supported by concrete arches that tie up the whole structure together." Here are some images of the building down below!
